These plants are grown wild in Oaxaca and Puebla and take 5-7 years to mature. The Tres Papalote Mezcal is a collaboration between Riviera Imports and Cheech Marin, a well-known comedian, actor, writer, and activist who has the largest collection of Chicano art in the world. The bottle artwork is inspired by Chicano artists from Cheech's collection. The Master Mezcalero prepares the agave hearts by baking them underground with smoky ocote and mesquite wood for 5 days. After fermenting and distilling, the Mezcalero expertly selects the perfect time to complete the process and bottle the mezcal.
